Our garage door cable failed then jammed last night we I came home. I saw EK Garage services Darien/Willowbrook with a Google search, so I gave them a call at 8:00 am. The receptionist listened to my problem and offered at tech between 9&11. About 10:30 they called explaining the tech was running late, was it still ok to come over. I said thanks for the call and update, sure I'll be waiting. Ron got here not really that long after. He came in and I explained what had happened, knowing I'm probably going to be replacing the door as it's the original. Ron explained my options and quoted me a fair price to get it back working and gave me a discount on replacing the whole door within the year. He replaced several hinges, rollers and the lift cables. Really efficient and skilled tech. After he finished he explained the bill and the discount if we decide to replace the door. Oh it's really hot out today 90 degrees. Totally impressed with his work and solution to our old garage door. He gave us a brochure to review the full replacement options. He took our check and I thanked him again. Gerald Casey Hyland9 days agoWoke up Saturday morning opened garage saw cable broken. Called another company they weren’t able until Monday. We did goggle search found this company. Called to see if they were open and receptionist said they could come on Saturday. 1-3 pm could come but the other guy was running late. Receptionist said someone else came out and Silva did a great job fixing the door was very pleasant and friendly person. Done in 30 minutes. Dena Lane175 days agoI came home today to the garage door opening a mere foot and then giving a very loud bang and halting. Within two hours Ron was out to give us an estimate and get to work. It is just over 4.5 hours since the opener broke and Ron has replaced the opener and chain and all of the worn out parts and it's running perfectly, and he's off to save someone else's day. He was very professional and friendly, explained everything he was doing and why, and made sure I know how to adjust sensors in case one gets nudged. Garage and spoke with Ezra. He was at my house in 20mins because he can tell I was so stressed out. He quoted me the job which was very reasonable and finished within an hour. Carla S.3253 days agoMy garage door opener decided to flip out at a most inopportune time. After calling the condo association's regular provider who never has time for us (and leaving a vm), I found E.K. on Yelp. It was less than 60 minutes from the time I called him to Ezra arriving at my Hyde Park condo. He was pleasant and professional and accurately diagnosed the issue with my system. The sensors and the wires between them and the opener were messed up. He replaced them lickety split, helped me re-program my wireless keypad and remote, took a credit card payment right there and I was able to go about my day. I would highly recommend E.K. I think it really made a difference that he was already on the south side. Too many contractors act like they are doing you a huge favor even taking calls from this side of town.Load more
